AEVOLO WELCOMES ANDREW VOLLMER

October 29th,  2018

Aevolo is pleased to announce Andrew Vollmer will ride in the Aevolo colors during the 2019 season. Previously an integral part of the LUX/Sideshow p/b Specialized team, the 18-year-old shines in time trialing and climbing and hopes to improve his abilities while transitioning into the pro ranks.

“My biggest goal for the 2019 season is to finish top 15 in a Pro Road Tour stage race, and reach a top five at under-23 Nationals in the time trial or road race,” Vollmer said. “I’m also striving to be the best teammate I can be, and help pursue the team’s objectives. I’ve had a successful 2018 season as a junior, and I am confident that 2019 will be as successful in the U23 ranks.”

Based southern California, Vollmer spent the majority of his final junior year racing in Europe, where he had his best result to date: an overall win at the prestigious Ronde des Vallées (2.1). Looking ahead to next season, Vollmer is excited to tackle the pro race at Tour of the Gila.

“I competed in this race last year in the men 1-2 category and I am anticipating seeing what it’ll be like in the UCI race and how my body will react to the tougher pace and larger volume,” Vollmer said. “The terrain suits me well. It’s an iconic American stage race that would be a milestone in placing in the top 10.”
