AEVOLO IN ACTION IN EUROPE AND LOCAL RACES

February 10th, 2017

We had three riders in action this weekend with Mike Hernandez racing the Georgia Tech Cycling Classic, Laurent Gervais lining up for the San Dimas Stage Race and Zeke Mostov swapping green and yellow for stars in stripes to race the U23 Gent Wevelgem race with USA Cycling.

Hernandez: From a field of 50 starters that included a handful of professional and elite riders, Hernandez rode himself onto the podium. He was part of an early escape of four that slipped away four miles into the 68-mile day. The quartet managed to put four minutes into the field before Hernandez sprinted in for third place.

Gervais: A lone representative in a peloton dominated by teams, Gervais did not make the time cut on the second day of racing. He’ll enjoy the benefit that comes from racing with a team when he lines up for Joe Martin on Thursday.

Mostov: Like Hernandez, Mostov spent the day up the road. The early breakaway was 15 riders strong and Mostov had two teammates in the move.

Mostav worked until the final ascent of the Kemmelberg at which point, job done, he popped. A valiant chase allowed him to regain contact with the leaders, but he was dispatched a second time when the attacks began again. His efforts helped proper Garrison to second on the Gent Wevelgem podium.

Next up: Joe Martin Stage Race – our first team race of our first season. Motivated is in an understatement.
